Yes , although we predominately use frame drums and are very influenced by Celtic/N.American medicine wheel teachings, we do not discourage any other drum from any culture being used. As long as the group dynamics are not severely affected i.e., overwelming the sound.
Contrary to what some believe, everyone has rhythm. Your heart sustains a constant beat throughout your life. Drumming is just an extension of the basic beat of your own heart. Anyone can drum, and any one can join a drum circle. You can have no experience or you can be an expert, it does not matter.
Would you consider doing a private function?
Yes , we do them but we have certain criteria that would need discussion and also it would depend on your needs . For more information contact us
What is your style or tradition of meditation ?
We call it 'native spirit' because wherever group sessions are being held, the focus is to connect with the land and the natural enviroment of the place itself. The meditation area is smudged to create sacred space first and participants are smudged into it. The chakras are slowly opened by a guided verbal instruction and then members are left in the 'silence' for some time. On the return from the 'inner journey' the chakras are closed down for protection the individual and the circle itself.
I am a beginner, and not sure about it?
Whether it is the drumming or meditation classes you are invited to try out a one time 'freebee' session to help you decide to commit to the classes or not, although it has to be said that 'sticking with' the first few sessions is how one begins to settle into flow of the work.
